Instrument Operation: The FPT (Folding Probe Thermometer) incorporates an on/off switch with an auto power off facility, this turns the unit off automatically after 10 minutes except in max/min mode where auto power does not apply.  Unfold the probe and apply at tip of the probe to the substance to be measured.  The instrument reading will take a few seconds to stabilise, depending on the nature of the measurement.

MAX/MIN Functions: The instrument features a MAX/MIN reading.  Press the Max/Min button to display the maximum temperature (the max icon will flash), press again for the minimum temperature (the min icon will flash) press for a third time to return to the normal measurement mode.  To clear the max/min memory turn the instrument off/on.

°C or °F: To change the scale from °C to °F, unscrew the screw at the rear of the instrument and remove the battery cover, press the °C/°F button (the instrument needs to be switched on), this will change the temperature scale.

Battery: If the thermometer does not power up as usual or the display contrast becomes weak and difficult to read or if Low Bat illuminates, replace the battery immediately using an AAA battery or a 1.5 volt equivalent.  Open battery cover at rear of the instrument by unscrewing the screw.  A battery should last for 8,000 hours continuous use or if used, 2 hours a day, seven days a week for a minimum of 10 years.

EMC/RFI: Instrument readings may be affected if the unit is operated within a radio frquency elctromagntic field strength of approximately 3 volts per metre, but the performance of the instrmuent will not be permanently affcted.

Guarantee: This instrument carries a 1 year warranty against defects in either components or workmanship.
